Oh how things have changed for comic-scribe Frank Miller. Gone are the days of being looked down upon by the Hollywood big shots for the ROBOCOP
sequels. Now Miller is the one who has Hollywood by the balls, because after the success of SIN CITY
and especially 300 , the dude is just raking in the dough on top of having producers beg him for rights to new material. Which leads me to the next story…It looks like Miller’s next Graphic Novel to make the move to the silver screen is going to be RONIN. The film will be shot pretty much the same way 300
was shot, with heavily stylized graphics and digitally constructed backgrounds. Also similar to 300
, RONIN will have a budget on par with that of 300 . Geez, I’m starting to think that the studio expects the results at the box office to resemble 300
’s. Anyone else get that feeling?
RONIN follows a bad-ass 13th century samurai who battles it out with some mega evil in 21st century New York. I wonder if they are going to change the name of the film since another movie (which sucked) has the same name.
