Takashi Miike has made some pretty f*cked up shite in the last few years, and is no different. The premised revolved around a group of friends who begin recieving phone calls of their future selves being murdered. Yeah. I saw a SMALLVILLE episode like that once, but I’m sure it was nothing like Miike’s version.
The boys at scored an interview with writer Andrew Klavan, who wrote the American remake of the film, which began shooting this week in Atlanta, GA. He had a lot of interesting things to say about his vision of the remake, and what to expect… like, is this a PG-13 WB horror, or something more?
“We had a mandate to bring it in at PG-13, but if it comes out the way we want it to, it’s going to be one hell of a scary PG-13. The story is pretty intricate and rich, so my hope is that not only older teenagers but adults as well will be able to get a real thrill out of it… without the younger people being, you know, traumatized and scarred for life.”
While that’s kind of lame, I think back to and , which were both PG-13, and also very good, so the potential for this to rock despite it’s rating is very, good.
