Monarch: Legacy of Monsters stars Anna Sawai, Anders Holm and more discuss the new season and what to expect!

I was very impressed with Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (our TV critic Alex Maidy seemed to enjoy it as well). I’ve always enjoyed the MonsterVerse but felt it had gotten a bit silly. So it’s nice to see it be a bit more grounded and focus more on characters, relying on more emotional investment versus spectacle. Not to say that there aren’t some massive action scenes on the same scale as a big-time film. It’s definitely worth checking out week to week.

I spoke with cast members Anders Holm, Mari Yakamoto, Kiersey Clemons, Anna Sawai, Joe Tippett, and producer Tory Tunnell. With so many different people, we talked about a variety of subjects. From how to get into character, to the key to making the “hacking a computer” look like more than just random typing on a keyboard. I also asked Tunnell about the decision to create their own Kaiju with Titan X versus pulling from the massive Godzilla Rogues Gallery. This was a great chat that you can check out in the video above! Plus – check our our interview with Kurt and Wyatt Russell HERE!

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 plot:

Season two picks up with the fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village called Santa Soledad in Chile 1957 where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is currently airing every Friday on Apple TV.
