It’s been a long, long time since hearing of the Michael Berryman monster-movie THE TENANT. Shoot, I’m talking a good 17 months. So what the hell has been happening with the flick since January of 2010?

I can’t speak to the behind-the-scenes goings on, but what I can tell you is this. We have a new synopsis and release date for the Ric La Monte directed feature. You ready to get down?

Coming to DVD August 11th, THE TENANT follows:

An obsessed Scientist who tries to cure human deformities through DNA splicing, an obsession drawing him into a dark world where he experiments on the patients at Edgewood Asylum. Ignoring his pregnant wife Olivia, she comes to see him one night, but everything goes horribly wrong as Dr. Newman watches in horror as Olivia deliver their twins – One twin is a beautiful baby girl, the other a deformed creature that defies nature. 25 years later, on a dark road, a van breaks down. Young, beautiful Liz Holliman of the Roslyn Center for the Deaf is traveling with a group of young teens and her driver, ex-con, Jeff Thomas. With a flat tire, a storm and freezing temperatures, they must seek shelter. The group makes their way to an old abandoned building — the Edgewood Asylum. Little do they know – evil awaits them…

THE TENANT also stars J. LaRose, Bill Cobbs, Randy Molnar, Georgia Chris, Sylvia Boykin, Justin Smith and Ashley Totin (below).
