Monty Python messes with Simon Pegg in the trailer for Absolutely Anything

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

When you think of Monty Python, odds are you immediately think of quotes from any of their films or the iconic sketches from their television series. They are one of the most influential comedy troupes of all time and we only have four films to their credit. While ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING may not be a formal Monty Python project, it was written and directed by Terry Jones and features the voice talents of all the surviving Pythons: Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, John Cleese, and Michael Palin. It also features the final performance of Robin Williams.

We now have a look at the full trailer for ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING which stars Simon Pegg alongside Kate Beckinsale, Eddie Izzard, Joanna Lumley, Rob Riggle, and many more.

A group of eccentric aliens confer a human being with the power to do absolutely anything, as an experiment.

While the comedy may seem a bit broad, it definitely echoes the humor from Monty Python. Ranging from scatological to the hint of boobs, ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING may be the closest we get to new Python on the big screen. Plus, Simon Pegg is just so damn likeable that this is worth a look.

ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING debuts in the UK on August 14th. An official domestic release date has yet to be announced.
