Last we told you about MOON, the sci-fi thriller helmed by newbie Duncan Jones, we let you know that the film had just finished shooting and had been picked up for international distribution by Independent. Now we’ve finally got word that the flick will indeed see the light of day here – and in all other English-speaking territories – courtesy of Sony.

MOON centers on a man who mines the precious gas that holds the key to reversing the Earth’s energy crisis. While that doesn’t sound particularly scary, add to it the fact that the lead character of Sam (Sam Rockwell, pictured, sporting his actor-beard) is not alone, and I don’t think we’re talking friendly neighbors…

Duncan Jones, it’s worthy to note, is the son of David Bowie and step-son of Iman – so the guy’s probably not the most well-adjusted fella. I mean that in the best way possible of course. MOON is scheduled for a May 25, 2009 release in the U.K. Keep your eyes here for further news on the U.S. distribution.

Damn Duncan – your stepmom is Hot!
