The final trailer for Morbius has been released and while I’m not entirely convinced this is the final trailer considering all of the film’s delays, I’m going to TRY to remain optimistic that the movie will arrive on April Fool’s Day as promised.

The trailer features much of the same footage we have already seen in the previous trailers that have been released. It’s hard to offer up something new since the film has been delayed numerous times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new trailer does end with a little nod to The Lost Boys which should be a fun little moment for fans.

Per the film’s official synopsis from Sony, “One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?” The film also stars Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.

Morbius suffered several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film’s original release date was July 10, 2020, which was then shifted to July 31, 2020. From there the film was pushed to Match 19, 2021, and then to October 8, 2021. After that delay, the film saw another release date shift to January 21, 2022, and from there Morbius was moved again to January 28, 2022. That appeared to be the last release date change but Sony moved the film again to April 1, 2022, when the Omicron surge became a concern. Some believe this wasn’t the reason for the move because it seemed silly to not ride the box office momentum of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Sony Pictures never explicitly said that was the reason for the last release date change and since its new date falls on April Fools Day, I’m still not totally optimistic we’ll get the film on that date but that’s just me.

Did YOU like the final trailer for Morbius? If things go as planned, Morbius will finally hit screens on April 1, 2022.
