More aliens invasions, this time in the Darkest Hour trailer

I saw this DARKEST HOUR trailer at Comic-Con and I thought it looked pretty good then. Watching again now, I like it even more. We’ve seen plenty of alien invasion movies over the past year so it’s not like we need another one but at least THE DARKEST HOUR is trying to do something different.

Instead of giving us another round of anorexic aliens with little heads and giant bodies, the aliens here are mostly invisible. And their ability to manipulate (and be manipulated by) electricity adds a neat little twist to the affair. I’m still not exactly sure why the film is set in Russia with an American cast (including Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby) but at least it’s not NYC or LA blowing up again.
