Just when you thought things couldn’t get much worse in terms of remakes and reboots here comes the knockout blow: the MORTAL KOMBAT movie franchise is looking to get a reboot. I know what you all are thinking: “Seriously?” And you know what, I’m saying the same thing. And here is the kicker, the main obstacle for the film’s development isn’t the script writing process or finding a competant director, but legal problems. Hmm…judging from the last film, MORTAL KOMBAT: ANNIHILATION, this franchise has way more problems than that of the legal variety. I guess they are talking about moving through the various branches of the video game departments as well as movie studios, and getting them all to agree on the same ideas.
The best part about this report of a reboot is the talks of wanting a “BATMAN BEGINS” like reboot. Folks, lets not get miles and miles ahead of ourselves here; it’s tough to imagine a MK flick being that good, but hey, go for it if you got the money and Christopher Lambert’s time.
