Heard from Eduardo Sanchez (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) about his upcoming alien-abduction-revenge movie ALTERED today, and recieved a tiny morsel of insight as to what to expect.
As it will undoubtedly be compared to the WITCH, Sanchez wants to make it clear that ALTERED is going to be different:
We’re editing now and it’s looking pretty good. Not like BLAIR WITCH at all but it’s got some scary moments. It’s more of a monster movie so the scares are different, you know? It’s a pretty fun ride, though.
There is one scene in particular with Mike Williams that is definitely going to be the shit people talk about when they see this movie. It’s crazy.

Didn’t really mean to say that alien abduction was a “lighter” topic. I don’t know if I was misquoted in USA TODAY or what, but I think I was comparing the story in ALTERED to a story about molestation. These guys were molested as teenagers but the fact that aliens did the molesting gives us a bit more wiggle room when it comes to story. You catch my drift.
Yeah, we catch your drift. Dirty old men molesting boys= serious, sick and uncomfortable story line, aliens molesting boys= sick, yet not as sick as a dirty old man, and therefore a fun and entertaining storyline.
