More Piranha casting!

This seems odd. A little delayed, or even a little late in hitting the trades, but then again, considering PIRANHA 3D is still filming, it’s never too late to have new cast members jump in front of the camera.

What the shit am I blabbering about? According to Variety, Ricardo Chavira has joined the cast of PIRANHA 3D, which is currently filming on location in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Chavira who, you may be asking. Two words for you: “Desperate Housewives.”

That’s right, the star of “Desperate Housewives” (he gets to nail Eva Longoria on the show) has joined the impressive cast of PIRANHA 3D that already includes Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames, Richard Dreyfuss, Dina Meyer, Brooklynn Proulx, Quinn Lord, Riley Steele, Jessica Szohr, and Jerry O’Connell. No real details as to the man’s role, but I have no doubt he’ll be slaughtered by some killer fish by the end of the movie. No doubt in my mind…

If anyone can make a new PIRANHA movie work in 3D, then it’s Alexandre Aja. Expect some seriously scary shit, a ton of blood, and giant killer fish flying at you in the theater. And boobs… lots and lots of boobs. Look for PIRANHA 3D in theaters March 19, 2010.
