Yesterday we reported that AVENGERS: ENDGAME was starting with a bang thanks to a record-breaking $107.5 million opening day in China (upped from an original estimate of $102 million) and turns out that was just the beginning of its incredible international rollout. After opening at the number one spot in 25 countries around the world, AVENGERS: ENDGAME has already amassed a mighty $169 million in its first day from overseas markets, which is only the start of what will be a massive weekend for the superhero epic.

Along with the strong opening in China, the movie opened to big numbers in other countries, like an $8.4 million in South Korea, which was a 40% increase over the opening AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR had. Other top-performing countries include France at $6M (a 64% increase), Italy at $5.8M (a 65& increase) and Germany at $5.6M (a 95% increase). All in all, the movie broke eight single-day records, including in China, Australia and more.

Continuing into Thursday, reports show that ENDGAME will add another $45.5 million in China to bring it’s total up to $153 million, as it continues to what analysts are predicting is a $300+ million opening through Sunday. In Korea, another $6 million is expected to up the total to $14.5 million.

Normally the Marvel movies have debuted in the Middle Kingdom a few weeks after the stateside and other international releases, but ENDGAME marks the opportunity for the movie to open in virtually every country in the same week (sans Russia, which gets it April 29). This means the movie is poised to smash the global opening record set by INFINITY WAR’s $640 million, with current numbers ranging in the $800 million territory. Of that, analysts are predicting a total of anywhere between $270-300 million for the domestic opening weekend, which that in itself would be the new record.

Anticipation for the movie is absurdly high as audiences are going to flock to the theater to see how Earth's Mightiest Heroes are holding up after the events of The Snap in the last movie. The end of the Infinity Saga and 11 years of movies, everyone has their own theories as to how things are going to go down, and critic reviews are suggesting fans won't leave disappointed or dry-eyed. With over 200 reviews the movie stands at a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest score for an MCU movie other than BLACK PANTHER (97%), and with a 78 score on Metacritic, which is higher than any other AVENGERS movie. While opening weekend tickets seem to be all gone as theaters scramble to add new showtimes, strong word of mouth will propel the movie into even better box office than it was already poised for in the long run.
