Breaking Bad’s Michelle MacLaren frontrunner to direct Wonder Woman

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Back in October we told you that Warner Bros. was looking for a female director to helm the upcoming solo WONDER WOMAN project. While there is certainly a lot of talent to choose from in that search, it has been reported as the list dwindled a familiar name has emerged. As I said last month if you don’t know the name Michelle MacLaren yet, you will soon enough.

Best known for directing great episodes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and The Leftovers, Two-time Emmy winner Michelle MacLaren is now the frontrunner for what would be her first feature film. Warner Bros. has declined to comment on its director search from the beginning and a representative for MacLaren had no comment but Variety says she’s in talks. With her obviously strong track record, it’s no surprise that MacLaren is being sought for the job. We will keep you posted as always; it sure does sound like they are really close to something official.

WONDER WOMAN is set for release on June 23, 2017.
