Brendan Gleeson chats with a killer in trailer for Mr. Mercedes TV series

Mr. Mercedes Brendan Gleeson TV

It's quite the year for film and television adaptations of the works of Stephen King, not only do we have Nikolaj Arcel's THE DARK TOWER, Andrés Muschietti's IT, and a TV series based on THE MIST to look forward to, but also a TV series based on Stephen King's "Mr. Mercedes." The hard-boiled detective series stars Brendan Gleeson (LIVE BY NIGHT) and Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful), with Gleeson playing Bill Hodges, a retired detective who is haunted by the unsolved gruesome killing of sixteen people. Brady Hartsfield (Treadaway), the demented serial killer behind the killings, begins taunting Hodges with a series of lurid letters and emails, sparking a dangerous game of cat and mouse as the retired detective attempts to stop the killer before he strikes again.

The Stephen King series also stars Jharrel Jerome (MOONLIGHT), Scott Lawrence (AVATAR), Robert Stanton (JASON BOURNE), Ann Cusack (Better Call Saul), Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds), Holland Taylor (THE TRUMAN SHOW), with Kelly Lynch (Magic City), Justine Lupe (Madam Secretary), and Breeda Wool (UnReal).

Mr. Mercedes will debut on Audience on August 9, 2017.

Extra Tidbit: Anton Yelchin was originally set to play Brady Hartsfield before his tragic death.
