Last week we caught wind that Ben Hardy (EastEnders) would be playing Angel in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, and one look at the guy would tell you that it felt right. However, we finally have confirmation from the man himself, who was goodly enough to share that bit of news as well as some concept art that hints are a dark future for the beloved mutant.

Bryan Singer on Ben Hardy's role:

Ben Hardy is Angel – I shall confirm it for you! But he’s not a very nice Angel! And that’s all I’ll say…

Any X-Men fan is familiar with Angel's dark turn into Archangel, and I'd say we'll see some sort of variation of that in Singer's film. Angel joins the growing list of new mutants in Apocalypse, which will include Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), and Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac). They'll of course be backed up by Prof. X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), and Beast (Nicholas). How's that for an X-Men line-up!

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
