Bryan Singer has cast his Jubilee for X-Men: Apocalypse

Another new mutant will join the roster of heroes for Bryan Singer's X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and we now have the first look at her. The director shared the first shot of the newly cast Jubilee, Lana Condor via his Instagram. This appears to be the acting debut for Condor who will portray the fan favorite mutant.

Jubilee has played prominently in a lot of X-Men comics and animated series but her big screen appearances have been relegated to minor roles in the second and third films where she was portrayed by Kea Wong. The teenaged Jubilation Lee joined the comics in the late 1980s and has stuck around since thanks to her spunky attitude and ability to shoot plasma energy from her hands.

It is unknown how significantly Jubilee will factor into the events of X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, but with the new round of younger actors playing Nightcrawler, Storm, Jean Grey, and Scott Summers, I would expect this to be a glimpse of what the X-Men will look like after the bigger names like Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, and Halle Berry take reduced roles or depart the franchise after this film.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE begins production soon in preparation for the slated May 27, 2016 release date.

I'd officially like to welcome our newest mutant #JubilationLee, #Jubilee @LanaCondor to #XMEN #Apocalypse
