Last October we shared some first images of Emma Stone and Colin Firth from Woody Allen's upcoming period comedy MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT. The collaboration must be going well between Stone and Allen as she’s already on board for his next movie. She will join the already cast Joaquin Phoenix in the untitled project that is set to shoot this July.
With the exception of 1981, Woody Allen has directed at least one movie a year every year since the Oscar-winning ANNIE HALL in 1977. His work hasn’t suffered in my opinion; there are a lot of people who dismiss his recent work but I ask you to watch movies like BLUE JASMINE, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, WHATEVER WORKS, and MATCH POINT and tell me he's lost his touch. I look forward to seeing MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT and learning about this untitled project as soon as possible.
I eagerly await to see Emma Stone in her first Allen picture this summer when MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT hits screens July 25th 2014.
Stone is in theaters now starring in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 while Joaquin Phoenix is re-teaming with THE MASTER director Paul Thomas Anderson for the upcoming Thomas Pynchon adaptation INHERENT VICE hitting theaters on December 12th 2014.
