Gal Gadot says the Justice League film is not “dark” or “heavy”

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Despite my constant belly-aching over the fate of the DCEU, I am actually really excited about JUSTICE LEAGUE. I have loved the DC heroes since Cartoon Network first started airing episodes of SUPERFRIENDS as a little kid, and never stopped. While I have many hesitations (such as the awful BATMAN V SUPERMAN), the hope is that maybe WB learned from their mistakes. The fact that Joss Whedon is there to help steer the story and re-write dialogue – and (presumably) lighten up the tone – is another step in the right direction.

And it seems that things are indeed going in the right direction, as Gal Gadot tells Entertainment Weekly, "Justice League is not a dark or heavy movie…It doesn’t have the weight that Batman v Superman had." Ben Affleck added, "The movie’s bigger in scale than any movie I’ve been involved with in my career…It feels massive in terms of the visual elements. That’s something that Zack (Snyder, director) is really good at. That will be admired."

Also, here's the EW cover showing off the league:

Gotta say, I'm liking it. Still concerned about the film, but right now I'm going to let that anxiety slide and just enjoy myself.

Meanwhile, JUSTICE LEAGUE will blast into theaters November 17th!
