Filming wraps on David Ayer’s Suicide Squad

A secret government agency run by Amanda Waller, named A.R.G.U.S., creates a task force comprised of super villains – the Suicide Squad. They are assigned to execute dangerous tasks in exchange for shorter prison sentences. Bad idea? Probably, but SQUAD's Amanda Waller has a point when she states that they have deniability in the event of some stuff going down. While it may seem like an odd move to have the third film in the DC/Warner Bros. universe feature the bad guys, that's exactly what they've done. Production has officially wrapped for SUICIDE SQUAD.

David Ayer:

It's a wrap folks! #SuicideSquad #WarnerBros #DCcomics

Opinions are all over the place for this flick and while I can't blame folks for thinking, "What the hell," that's exactly what excites me about SUICIDE SQUAD. Director David Ayer knows how to imbue his films with some true grit, and while the quality of the story is anyone's guess, there's no question the style feels right with what Warner Bros. is going for. If anything, this movie will decide if audiences are down with Jared Leto's Joker or not.

SUICIDE SQUAD opens in theaters on August 5, 2016.
