Gal Gadot is looking elegant in new Wonder Woman 1984 photo

Originally set to come out later this year we’re having to wait even longer for the new Wonder Woman movie – WONDER WOMAN 1984 – which is now due out next summer. Luckily, we’ve had a better look at the movie than we have any right to this far out thanks to a few released images, and now director Patty Jenkins is here to add another to the pile. The filmmaker posted a new, extremely elegant photo of star Gal Gadot as the heroine, draped in what I can only assume are the finest linens in the land.

“Happy Birthday to my most spectacular, incredible, amazing, beautiful, loving, powerful, hilarious and awe inspiring friend and partner. I love you more than words can say. Happy Birthday @GalGadot #WW1984”, Jenkins wrote in the caption.

The only thing we know when it comes to the overall story of WW84 is the time setting, which is sort of in the title. We’ve seen photos of Chris Pine returning as Steve Trevor from the last movie, but given he died during at the end of that one, there’s tons of speculation as to exactly how he gets to the 80s. What we have yet to see of the movie is Kristen Wiig as the main villain, Cheetah, so we still have that to look forward to.

As for this image, there's not much to gather in terms of plot details (she's at a high-end function?) but it's certainly got a nice, colorful, almost kaleidoscopic look to it. Gadot is killing it as always, and I'm not alone in counting down the days to when we can watch her suit up again and kick every ass – namely some Cheetah ass.
