You didn't think J.K. Rowling was going to be lured back into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter by Warner Bros. for just one more film, did you? Oh no no no no no… FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM isn't a planned one-off. In fact, there's an entire trilogy being laid out to keep that magical gravy train rolling for all involved who like money.

However, this isn't going to be one of those long-form stories that are figured out along the way. J.K. Rowling doesn't work like that. At least, according to director David Yates, she already has quite a bit of the writing for the rest of the series completed.

She’s done the first one. She’s written the second one. She’s got ideas for the third one.

Now that doesn't mean Rowling won't tweak things along the way. If she has a better idea than one already in her script, she'll change it, much like with her novel drafts over the years. But it is refreshing to know there already are long-term plans for everything being set up with the first film over making it up as they go.

FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM opens in theaters on November 18.
