Katee Sackhoff puts to rest Ms Marvel casting rumors she helped start

Katee Sackhoff gets some serious hate on this site and I am not sure why. Yeah, she may not be the greatest actress out there, but she has taken part in some quality genre projects like BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. Her geek love should have made her a darling for fanboys, but instead she draws quite a bit of ire.

Maybe it is because she keeps associating herself with projects that she has no link to, like the long rumored MS/CAPTAIN MARVEL movie that Marvel has yet to officially announce. Last year, Sackhoff teased a possible Marvel movie in her future and continued to drop hints about projects coming soon. Naturally, we all assumed it would be Ms Marvel or Jessica Jones, but now Sackhoff has set the rumors to bed in an interview with Vulture.

“As of this moment, I have not sat down with anybody from Marvel for any role specifically,” said Sackhoff. “But that doesn’t necessarily mean that something with Marvel is completely off the table for the future.”

While rumors have circulated that Joss Whedon may have included Ms Marvel in next summer’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and even tweeted a photo of Katee Sackhoff in association with a female Thor, there has been no confirmation of any kind that Marvel Studios has anything in active development.

So, I guess this means Sackhoff haters can breathe a sigh of relief while everyone else crosses another name of the list of prominent female characters who will appear when AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON opens May 1, 2015.
