Marvel won’t tell Tom Holland if Maguire or Garfield are in Spider-Man 3

Tom Holland has a pretty funny history of not being able to keep MCU secrets so it should come as no surprise that certain things are being kept from him about the upcoming third MCU Spider-Man film. Despite having shot seven weeks on the film, according to an interview with "Variety", Holland is claiming there is one big rumor that he's completely clueless about because Marvel hasn't told him.

Casting announcements have made it clear that Spider-Man 3 is exploring some kind of live-action multiverse storyline. Jamie Foxx is confirmed as reprising his role as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which starred Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and it's also confirmed that Alfred Molina is back as Doctor Octopus, a role he played in 2004's Spider-Man 2, which featured Tobey Maguire as the web-slinger. Big rumors suggest that other characters across the Spider-Verse are making appearances in the third film but Holland, during an appearance on "Variety's Awards Circuit" podcast, claims that Marvel has not told him if Maguire or Garfield are coming back to play their versions of Spider-Man:

"Beats me, I don't know. If they are, they haven't told me yet…That would be something that Marvel would do. I watch the film and be like 'So that's who that tennis ball was!'"

Holland could totally be playing coy and actually does know if they're returning in the latest MCU Spider-Man effort or he could very well be left in the dark. I'm leaning on the fact that he knows more than he's saying because during a chat with "Variety" Holland called the third film "the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made." That's a pretty bold statement and it definitely hints at the fact that the rumors about all of the surprise casting from the past, which also includes Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, could very well be true. Throw in the confirmed appearance of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and Elizabeth Olsen teasing that she could also be involved in Spider-Man 3, this is a big story with a lot of working parts that could easily be great or go horribly wrong if they slip up.

Do YOU Think Tom Holland really doesn't know if Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield are returning or is he playing coy to not reveal any big secrets?
