Netflix is readying a Between Two Ferns movie with Zach Galifianakis

Are you ready to to engage in a plantside chat with Zach Galifianakis like you never have before? Netflix sure hopes so, because according to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming giant is already developing a film based on the online talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. Veteran segment director and Ferns co-creator, Scott Aukerman, is expected to helm the film which will find Galifianakis delivering a feature-length version of his tongue-in-cheek interview show. Along for Galifianakis' wild ride aboard the Ferns film express are, according to sources, Peter Dinklage, David Letterman, Keanu Reeves and Galifianakis' HANGOVER co-stars Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper.

Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis launched via Funny or Die in 2008, and delivered awkward yet informative interviews with celebrities and political figures alike until 2014. During that time, Galifianakis welcomed Hollywood heavy hitters like Jon Hamm, Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron, Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Will Ferrell, Jerry Seinfeld and many more to the deadpan comedy program. The show then returned in 2016 for a special episode featuring presidental hopeful Hilary Clinton. The episode caught like wildfire, netting Ferns more than 30 million views in just 24 hours. It's no wonder that Netflix is looking to present a long-form version of the in-demand program, eh?
