THR is reporting that British actor Richard E. Grant (WITHNAIL & I, BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA) has been added to the cast of WOLVERINE 3, joining Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Boyd Holbrook.

Details on Grant's role are scarce, but his character is being described as a "villainous mad-scientist type," which has led some to believe that the actor will be playing Doctor Abraham Cornelius, one of the scientists of the Weapon X program. Cornelius also played a key role in the "Death of Wolverine" comics.

As we learned earlier this month (and as many suspected), the currently untitled THE WOLVERINE sequel will take place in the future, and will loosely follow the "Old Man Logan" storyline. James Mangold will direct Jackman's final big screen outing as the mutant, and filming is expected to begin sometime next month. Who do you think Grant will be playing in the threequel?

WOLVERINE 3 is scheduled to open on March 3, 2017.
