Ryan Gosling is an odd dude. Sure, he looks like the handsome, sexy, chick magnet that gets all the ladies, but in real life the guy is dark and weird. Think a young version of Johnny Depp. I mean, if you have heard Gosling’s band Dean Man’s Bones you know he is not as mainstream as US Weekly would like you to think.

Gosling is going to be making his feature directorial debut with the film HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER and he has nabbed his DRIVE co-star Christina Hendricks to play the main character.

HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.

Okay, so it is surreal, bizarre, and stars sexy Christina Hendricks? Why has this movie not been made yet?

It remains to be seen exactly how indie this is going to be. For now, Gosling is producing through is own Phantasma Films but it could always get picked up at a film festival. The movie begins shooting in the spring.
