Recently while attending an event for HBO's upcoming third season of WESTWORLD, Tessa Thompson, who plays Valkyrie in Marvel's cinematic universe, revealed that Christian Bale will play "the villain" for the fourth installment of the studio's Thor series, THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER.

When asked if she could reveal any details about the upcoming film, Thompson revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she's read the script, saying, "Yeah, I've read the script. I can't tell you much, but there's been lots of exciting text messages exchanged between Natalie [Portman] and I. We're going to have fun. Taika's writing/directing. There's some familiar faces, some new people in the mix. Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic."

Immediately after that juicy tidbit, Thompson was asked if Valkyrie will enter THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER as the new King of Asgard, to which Thompson replied, "Hell yeah. Of course she will. If she can't find her queen she'll just be king and queen at the same time."

To be crystal clear, we still have no idea which villain Bale will be playing in director Taika Waititi's next Thor-related adventure. I only used an image that includes Gorr the God Butcher because he's one of my favorite Marvel villains ever. That said, he's been featured heavily throughout comic writer Jason Aaron's epic run on Thor: God of Thunder and The Mighty Thor – both of which are said to be serving as inspiration for the upcoming film.

Reprising their Marvel roles for THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER are Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie; Natalie Portman as Jane Foster / Mighty Thor; and Taika Waititi as Korg. Christian Bale also stars, though as we've discussed, we've yet to learn the exact nature of his role in the events yet to come.

Who do you think Bale will be playing in THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER? Ulik the rock troll? Kurse, originally the dark elf Algrim the Strong? Mangog? Mephisto? The list goes on. Personally, I'm holding out for Gorr the God Butcher, a nigh unstoppable villain who's essentially a serial killer of gods. Think about it. How perfect would Bale be for that role? Let's do this, Taika!
