The Predator cinematographer teases start of production with Twitter pic

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Last week we got our first glimpse of the cast (above, minus the appearance of Thomas Jane) of THE PREDATOR, while Shane Black further assured the movie would be a hard R. People took this to mean that filming has begun, and now we have actual picture evidence of this thanks to a Twitter post from cinematographer Larry Fong. Another thing you can get from the photo is the title style. Red with some shading near the bottom, it is in the near-identical style of the original film, giving further credence to the idea that Black is trying to make this movie feel like the 1987 classic. Praise be unto him!

Are you excited? I bet you’re excited!

This is a neat little pic for anyone looking forward to the upcoming movie, especially anyone who's been wanting a proper PREDATOR movie that's familiar to the original. Though not everyone was pleased with the cast photo, and the lack of bulging muscles on-par with Arnold Schwarzenegger. But I think between Black's vision and the acting talent of the cast we can expect a faithful, bloody action flick featuring committed performances. Here's to hoping I'm right. For this toast I'm using the skull of my crushed enemy.

THE PREDATOR hits theaters February 9, 2018 with Thomas Jane, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Sterling K. Brown, Boyd Holbrook, Keegan-Michael Key and Jacob Tremblay.
