Titans: Season 3 to premiere in August on HBO Max

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The cast of DC's Titans took to Twitter to announce that Season 3 of the superhero drama series will hit HBO Max in August. Filming is currently underway, with plenty of surprises planned for the upcoming season. The story picks up years after the Titans have disbanded, though it appears as if a host of oncoming threats will bring them together once more.

Titans Season 3 stars Anna Diop as Starfire, Damaris Lewis as Blackfire, Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth/Raven, Ryan Potter as Gar Logan/Beast Boy, Conor Leslie as Jason Todd/Red Hood, Joshua Orpin as Hank Hall/Hawk, and Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger/Dove.

According to Titans executive producer Greg Walker, the upcoming season will shine quite the spotlight on Diop's Starfire. In fact, Walker told TVLine's Inside Line in November of last year the following about what's in store for the fan-favorite character when the show finally returns:

“The arrival of her sister/nemesis Blackfire (new series regular Damaris Lewis) launches Kory down a path where she uncovers both secrets about her past and clues to her destiny… all of which will lead to her true calling as Starfire," he said. “Plus,” Walker added, “we have a few other surprises in store for hardcore Starfire fans this season.”

Originally, Titans had planned to return to the screen this past fall, but the Covid-19 pandemic had other plans. Naturally, the production team had to rethink their approach to filming by adding the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. The turnaround is mighty impressive if you ask me, especially when you consider how involved a show like Titans truly is.

With a new home on HBO Max, and an eagerness to get back to kicking the ass of evildoers, Titans Season 3 sounds like it's shaping up to be the most ambitious installment of the show yet. Be sure to follow the cast members of Titans online for more surprises leading up to the premiere.
