Director Todd Phillips began shooting his non-DCEU tied JOKER movie this past week and today shared the first look at Joaquin Phoenix as the character, who Phillips labels as “Arthur” in the image. There’s also a slew of set pics and video making the rounds from a scene filmed on the streets of New York where “Arthur” seems to be confronting a man dressed as a clown, antagonizing him before grabbing his red nose off his face and tossing it into the street, while laughing maniacally. Intriguing stuff, for sure, and a good tease overall. It’s such an interesting project overall and even if not tied to the DC Cinematic Universe, it’s got serious appeal, not to mention starpower.
