Vin Diesel drops the needle on his first single “Feel Like I Do”

Vin Diesel, Fast & Furious 9, Feel Like I Do

* SPOILER WARNING! Nothing can prepare you for what you are about to see and hear. Don't say we didn't warn you. *

Watch out, Jeremy Renner, because Vin Diesel is coming in hard and fast for a piece of that actor-turned musical artist spotlight. No, this is not an early April Fool's joke. By the grace of all that is good in this world, Vin Diesel recently debuted a portion of his first single "Feel Like I do" on The Kelly Clarkson Show

"For so long, I have been promising to release music… encouraged by you, to step out of my comfort zone," Diesel wrote to his Instagram followers this week. "Thank you for believing in me. As always, I hope to make you proud."

To share a snippet of his first single with the world, Diesel recorded a message for The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying, "I am so honored to be able to debut my music on your show because since you first won Idol till today, you've managed to maintain your authenticity. I am blessed that I am here. Normally, I would be on a movie set, but as you know, that's not possible. I've had another creative outlet, another way to show you, or share with you, my heart."

"One of the people who first believed in me was Kygo," Diesel added before dropping the needle on his first tasty jam of the Autumn season.

What follows may surprise you, as Diesel's first single is quite the head-bopper. The song begins with an arrangement of low-fi beats before Diesel introduces some sultry vocals. The Fast & Furious actor's vocal delivery is by all accounts surprising, given his gruff speaking voice and propensity for being nothing if not super serious about pretty much everything. As the song continues, Clarkson's multi-cultural virtual audience starts dancing to the beat. I've got jokes about this part of the video, but I'll let you make your own as you witness the questionable display.

You can watch the video and hear a portion of Vin Diesel's new single "Feel Like I Do" below:

Written and produced by Petey Martin, Diesel's single falls under Kygo's Palm Tree Records label.

Diesel is going to have some stiff competition when releasing his new single today, as bands like Rituals of Mine and Deftones also dropped brand-new albums this Friday. Both are positively incredible and totally worth you giving them a listen. Enjoy!
