Will Smith, Martin Lawrence reunite as Bad Boys 3 starts shooting

The (bad) boys are back in town for another round of over-the-top action and carnage, and to mark the beginning of shooting on BAD BOYS FOR LIFE stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence posed for a photo with their history projected behind them. Smith posted the photo on his Instagram yesterday to announce the movie would start shooting today, proving once again you should never say never to the prospect of more adventures, even over a decade later.

With the photo Smith included a caption that said he and Lawrence took a trip down memory lane, saying, “First Day of Shooting tomorrow! We watched @BadBoys 1 & 2 together over the weekend. It’s about to be KRAZY! #badboysforlife.” See, and I bet you all just stayed at home watching movies with your *snickers* family.

This photo comes on the heels of Smith talking about BAD BOYS once more with actor/comedian Dave Chappelle. Smith posted a clip of the two talking, with Chappelle asking the star what his favorite kind of movie to do was. Smith replied that the action-comedy genre is hard to beat, with him saying he was told by director Michael Bay that one specific scene from the first BAD BOYS was the one that made him a star.

The sequel comes 15 years after BAD BOYS II, and over two decades after the first movie came out in 1995, both directed by Bay and turning both actors into legitimate movie stars. A third movie had been on the books for years, with the third movie originally slated for 2017, and a fourth planned for a few years later. At that time Joe Carnahan was tapped to write and direct, but now directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have taken over the project, and now the third movie is aiming for an early 2020 release.  Whatchu gonna do then? Buy tickets, I imagine.
