As Snyderphiles continue to fight an uphill battle against Warner Bros. for the studio to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut of JUSTICE LEAGUE, the SUCKER PUNCH and WATCHMEN helmer has been busy filming the final scenes of his upcoming zombie apocalypse feature, ARMY OF THE DEAD. Snyder recently teased that his latest project would shamble to Netflix next year, and now he's taken to Vero to announce that ARMY OF THE DEAD is a wrap!

Previously while describing his new film, Snyder teased that "A zombie plague hits Vegas, and they’re able to contain the virus to the city – they build a wall out of shipping containers. And then the city falls. And six years later, one of the casino owners hires this group of zombie soldiers to go get his money that he left in a safe in the casino."

When Snyder first got ARMY OF THE DEAD off the ground, the film was set up at Warner Bros. However, the movie has since moved to Netflix, where we hear the streaming giant is making it rain for an estimated $70 to $90 million dollar production. Snyder is producing alongside his wife Deborah Snyder for The Stone Quarry with Wesley Collar. Meanwhile, Ori Marmu and Andrew Norman will oversee for Netflix.

Written by Joby Harold and Shay Hatten from a story penned by Snyder, ARMY OF THE DEAD will star Dave Bautista (BLADE RUNNER 2049), Omari Hardwick (POWER), Chris D’Elia (YOU, ALONE TOGETHER), Hiroyuki Sanada (SUNSHINE, THE TWILIGHT SAMURAI), Raul Castillo (WE THE ANIMALS), Nora Arnezeder (PARIS 36, THE WORDS), Matthias Schweighöfer (YOU ARE WANTED, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DAY), Samantha Win (WONDER WOMAN, MORTAL KOMBAT), Rich Cetrone (THOR) and Garrett Dillahunt (12 YEARS A SLAVE, DEADWOOD).

ARMY OF THE DEAD marks Snyder's triumphant return to the zombie genre after helming 2004's DAWN OF THE DEAD remake. The aforementioned spectacle of the undead starred Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames and Michael Kelly as just a few of the individuals hoping to survive a zombie apocalypse while holding their ground inside of a shopping mall. The remake had received quite a bit of positive buzz at the time of its release, so it's easy to see why fans are excited for Snyder to return to zombie-infested territory.

We'll be sure to bring you more news about Zack Snyder's ARMY OF THE DEAD as it develops.
