And MTV continues to ride the genre train…

With their newish “Teen Wolf” series doing gangbusters, Variety is reporting that MTV has just bought a script called “Spellbinder” with plans to turn it into an original television series. Word is the script, from Erik Patterson and Jessica Scott, revolves around a teenage girl who can communicate with ghosts.

A lot of definition to be filled in between such blurry lines, but it sounds like the series will have more of a dramatic element to it than a flat out horror tone. One thing is for certain, writing partners Patterson and Scott recently worked on something called “The Haunting Hour: The Series”, so maybe they know the genre better than you might expect from the same duo who gave us ANOTHER CINDERELLA STORY. I’m hopeful anyway.

No word when “Spellbinder” will start taking shape…with actors and directors, an airtime, etc…but as always, we’ll keep you abreast every step of the way.
