You guys remember that last update on the HELLRAISER remake? It was the one about all that ‘PG-13 aimed at teens’ mumbo jumbo. Well… you can go ahead and throw that shite right out the window because it’s bullsh*t!
How do we know that whole thing is a dead end? Well because the guys over at ShockTillYouDrop just dropped the word that Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier will be the duo writing and directing the upcoming HELLRAISER remake! Now if you know anything about these two gentlemen it’s that they don’t do PG-13 and that their projects are always a blast. Is this enough to actually warrent a HELLRAISER remake? Not really but if it has to happen I’m pretty sure most of you will agree with me in saying that Farmer and Lussier tackling the project is A-Ok!
Considering the duo’s latest projects include MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D and DRIVE ANGRY 3D it’s no surprise they’d be considered for HELLRAISER, which will most likely be in 3D. Farmer will assumingly pen the script with Lussier tackling the directing duties. Further confirmation on this whole thing is coming from Farmer’s Facebook page, where the scribe recently slapped up the pic you see above: A groovy little ‘Pinhead’ bobblehead sitting comfortably atop Farmer’s desk. If that doesn’t seal the deal I don’t know what will!
This announcement also sheds a little light on the Amber Heard (below) casting rumor, which is entirely understandable now considering the young actress worked with the duo on DRIVE ANGRY 3D. Though a deal attaching Heard to the project is far from set I wouldn’t be surprised if things pan out that way.
