We were following MY SON, MY SON, WHAT HAVE YE DONE pretty hard about a year ago as it was gearing up for its release, then… nothing. Absolute silence on all fronts… until today. Today there’s a brand new clip online (which you can check out below), and details as to the film’s DVD release!

First up, what the hell is MY SON again? Inspired by a true crime, a man begins to experience mystifying events that lead him to slay his mother with a sword.

Directed by Werner Herzog (BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS) and starring Willem Dafoe, Brad Dourif, and Chloë Sevigny, the film is essentially a mindf*ck of a movie, if for nothing else, expressed by the fact that the home video release is presented by none other than… David Lynch. Nice!

Check out the specs!

  • 5.1 Surround Sound
  • Commentaries by Herzog, writer Herb Golder and producer Eric Bassett
  • Interviews with Golder and Herzog
  • Behind-the-scenes footage
  • The short film “Plastic Bag” by director Ramin Bahrani

I might pick up the DVD just so I can see “Plastic Bag” since it’s apparently about a plastic bag’s existential journey. Nice. And you thought only the film would be trippy!

MY SON heads to home video on September 14, 2010, in the meantime… check out the clip below and be sure to PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY TODAY!
