My trailer could paint that!

JoBloJoBlo

My whole life, all I’ve ever wanted to do was to be an artist, but it just wasn’t in me. I didn’t have the talent, I didn’t have the drive. Now I’m too old to be anything except for a miserable little rat.

And so there I am, this miserable little rat, hitting the ‘refresh’ button on the Apple Trailers website over and over again, because new trailers are all I have to look forward to, and lo and behold, a new trailer pops right up, for a movie called MY KID COULD PAINT THAT. When I watched it, I freaked. It’s about a 4-year-old named Marla Olmstead, who has sold over $300,000 worth of paintings, because some collectors and scholars out there think the smears and bloops and blaps she wipes all over a canvas is the work of a child prodigy. She’s been all over the news and has become a sensation, but some are questioning if she’s the only one behind her: is her work the product of a visionary mind, or a of a toddler fooling around with coloured goop.

It looks like it’ll be a good addition to the whole ‘What is art?’ debate, a question I know we’ve all spent many sleepless nights pondering. I have to say though, I’m f*cking jealous of this Marla character. The second I saw her art, I was all ‘Hey, I could paint that!’ And that’s when I realized it: whoever titled this movie is the real genius. Check t he trailer out HERE, and see Marla out-paint Picasso on October 5th.
