officially moved to the next level as MyJoBlo.com
opened its cyber-doors last weekend, and created an official network
of movie maniacs right here on JoBlo.com.
If you’re already a member of our
JoBlo.com message forums, you should automatically have your own
Profile page created already (we already have close to 30,000
members)– just click on PROFILE under any of your posts or
access your own page by typing in www.myjoblo.com/yourusername.

This new section of the site includes
many of the typical social networking standards that you’ve
already seen on other sites like MYSPACE and FRIENDSTER, but we’ve
also made it cooler and more specific to movie fans, so that you can
enjoy many of its slick features, including:
1) ABOUT ME: Your own description of
yourself to others
2) MY IMAGES/VIDEOS: Upload images of your choosing
3) MY DETAILS/INTERESTS: Your fav movies, music, books, etc..
4) MY FRIENDS: List of all your current FRIENDS on MyJoBlo.com
5) MY BLOGS: Where you can post your own blogs/journals
6) MY DVD COLLECTION: List the DVDs you own and grade them
7) MY LISTS: Create any number of your “favorite” lists
8) MY MOVIE REVIEWS: Simply put, you post your own film reviews
9) MY FRIENDS COMMENTS: Buddies get to comment on your life
10) FAVORITES: Quick list of your favorite movie, actors, hotties!

THE SCHMOE OF THE
DAY
Every day a
different member of the site (aka ‘schmoe’) is chosen as our Schmoe of
the Day, generally at random. That said, you can improve your chances of
being the SOTD by making sure that you have a default picture in your
profile, as well as only 1 film listed as your “Favorite of
All-Time”, your age and your location.
TOP DVD
COLLECTIONS
The main
MYJOBLO.COM community page also lists all of the latest members to join,
all of the latest images posted into profiles, as well as the latest
blogs from others, movie reviews, videos, etc… We’re also listing the
top 15 DVD collections from members. As of today, I’m sitting in 8th
place (scratch that, I was in 6th place!), but I’m sure that I won’t even be in the top 100 in a few
weeks…
SEARCH MEMBERS
Finally, being as
there are close to 30,000 members already, we’ve created a SEARCH
section which allows you to browse through all of the member
profiles (yeah, unlike that billion dollar entity better known as
MYSPACE whose search function blows!!), or
better yet, try to find others who live in your area, or are between a
certain age, etc… SEARCH AWAY!
