Myrick’s Objective

How does one go from co-directing the super successful indie flick THE BLAIRWITCH PROJECT, to gearing up to direct a much bigger budgeted movie about the Bermuda Triangle? I don’t know. I wish I did know, cause I wish I could do the very same thing, but I just don’t know. I should ask Daniel Myrick.

He was the co-director of BLAIR WITCH, and he just signed on to helm THE OBJECTIVE with Darclight Films (they also produced WOLF CREEK). So what’s it about? Pic follows a special ops team carrying out a mission in Afghanistan that finds itself lost in a Bermuda Triangle-type vortex of ancient evil.

All you had to say was Bermuda Triangle- I’m totally there! Sounds like it has potential to be a total blast, and in some weird way, it’s kind of original. Ok, not really super original, but we haven’t seen something like this in a while, so it seems fresh. Well, fresher.

Cool beans for Myrick though, as after blowing everyone away, it seems he kind of dropped out of the spotlight for awhile, so I’m glad to see him back at it. Not sure when it’s supposed to start filming, or when it’ll be released, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear it!
