Mysterio comes to Peter Parker’s rescue in Spider-Man: Far From Home clip

Mysterio, Spider-Man: Far From Home

Several days ago, we got our first clip from SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME which featured Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) explaining the concept of the Multiverse to Peter Parker (Tom Holland), and now, we've got another new clip which finds Peter Parker facing off against his first Elemental in the form of Hydro-Man. Thankfully, your friendly Multiverse Mysterio arrives in time to save the day.

Check it out!

The recent SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME trailer also revealed that certain events in AVENGERS: ENDGAME tore a hole in our dimension and that Quentin Beck (Gyllenhaal) is actually the resident of another universe. "Endgame opened up the possibilities for a much, much larger universe," director Jon Watts teased. "All that stuff sort of converged in the perfect way for us." Although most of us know Mysterio has a villain, the upcoming film seems to be painting him as a hero; in fact, Parker's relationship with Mysterio is not unlike the wall-crawler's friendship with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).

What I wanted to do was bring this iconic character into the world in a way that people weren’t expecting. And Mysterio as the hero is definitely something that we haven’t seen before. The idea of Spider-Man, Mysterio, and Nick Fury teaming up to take on this global threat of the Elementals was really exciting.

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME will hit theaters on July 2, 2019.
