Natalia Tena joins BBC’s sci-fi series The Refugees

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Natalia Tena, best known for her turns in “Game of Thrones” (although we haven’t seen much of her lately) and the HARRY POTTER series, will lead the BBC Worldwide and Atresmedia’s new sci-fi series “The Refugees”, Variety reports.

The Refugees explores the impact on a small rural community after millions of refugees from the future travel back in time to seek shelter in the present.

Created by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, Cristóbal Garrido and Adolfo Valor, “The Refugees” will begin filming this summer before premiering on La Sexta in Spain in the autumn. Tom Grieves (“Law and Order UK,” “Being Human”) is acting as a script consultant. BBC Worldwide will act as co-producer, commissioner for international channels, and global distributor. That means you can most likely expect to see it on BBC/BBC America later in the year.

More casting announcements should be coming in soon.
