NBC’s Dracula: sink your teeth into the first trailer

That was quick: earlier today we brought you the first images released from NBC’s fall series “Dracula”, and now a trailer has emerged, which you can sink your teeth into below. (Expect that “sink your teeth” pun to be used non-stop for months upon months.)

It must be said that the show looks quite polished; from the costumes to the production design to the visual effects work, everything appears to be top-notch. But is Jonathan Rhys Meyers the right man to play the classic Bram Stoker anti-hero? Jury is still out.

The pitch:

It’s the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

“Dracula” stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Jessica De Gouw, Thomas Kretschmann, Katie McGrath and Nonso Anozie. It will debut at some point this fall.
