Likely Stories Neil Gaiman

I wasn't sure what to make of the mini-series Likely Stories after watching the trailer that's embedded below. The trailer gives away so little that it's hard to even figure out what genre the show is in. Drama? Fantasy? Horror? All it really gets across is that the series tells "four twisted tales" from author Neil Gaiman.

Likely Stories is now streaming exclusively on Shudder, and the synopsis the streaming service provided doesn't reveal much more than the trailer does:

Adapted from Gaiman's dark tales, this collection of distinct, odd and brilliant short stories is both cinematic and strange. In each film, each character is compelled to share their story and we're drawn into their very act of telling tall tales. While each episode has its own lead character, they are backed by an ensemble cast that play across all four bold and original films.

Likely Stories originally aired on Sky Arts in the UK last year, though, so there are plenty of viewers who have already seen this series. With the information that came out of the UK airing, I was able to figure out that there is indeed horror to this series, and the tales it tells center on a celibate man who is diagnosed with an STD, an elderly woman who survives on raw meat, a sinister house in the woods, and a model who never ages.

Check out the mysterious trailer below, and if Likely Stories interests you seek it out on Shudder.
