Neill Blomkamp’s Demonic: countdown video arrives ahead of trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The latest film from District 9 director Neill Blomkamp is a supernatural horror thriller called Demonic, which is scheduled to reach theatres on August 20th. The teaser trailer for this film will be arriving online tomorrow, June 3rd, but in the meantime we've gotten our hands on a "countdown" video that offers a quick preview of the imagery we'll be seeing in tomorrow's teaser. You can check that video out in the embed above, where it's followed by the 8mm look behind the scenes that Blomkamp shared in April.

In Demonic

a young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed.

Carly Pope, Chris William Martin, and Michael Rogers star.

All of Blomkamp's previous feature films (District 9, Elysium, Chappie) have been sci-fi, so I'm looking forward to seeing him switch it up with this supernatural horror film.
