After premiering his new film to critical acclaim at the 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival, Bong Joon-Ho has teamed with Neon to bring his Palme d’Or Award winning drama to the masses.
Hailed by critics as “brilliant,” an “exceptional pitch-black tragicomedy” and a “nerve-racking masterpiece,” PARASITE marks Bong's comeback to Korean language film following his release of OKJA on Netflix as well as the 2013 Chris Evans sci-fi starrer, SNOWPIERCER. His latest crowd pleaser also sets up the foreign filmmaker's fourth collaboration with actor Song Kang-Ho, after the duo teamed on SNOWPIERCER, THE HOST, and MEMORIES OF MURDER.

Meet the Park Family: the picture of aspirational wealth. And the Kim Family, rich in street smarts but not much else. Be it chance or fate, these two houses are brought together and the Kims sense a golden opportunity. Masterminded by college-aged Ki-woo, the Kim children expediently install themselves as tutor and art therapist to the Parks. Soon, a symbiotic relationship forms between the two families. The Kims provide “indispensable” luxury services while the Parks give the Kims a way out of their shabby circumstances. But this new ecosystem is fragile, and soon enough greed and class prejudice threaten to upend the Kims’ newfound comfort.
Starring in the film alongside Kang-ho Song are Sun-kyun Lee, Yeo-jeong Jo, Woo-sik Choi, Hyae Jin Chang, and So-dam Park, among others.
Given Bong's track record for delivering unique cinematic experiences throughout his career, fans of the foreign filmmaker should be extra stoked for PARASITE, on account of it already having received such high praise from this year's Cannes gathering.
Neon will unleash PARASITE in theaters on October 11, 2019.
