Nestor Carbonell returning to his role as the mayor in The Dark Knight Rises

Richard Alpert Nestor Carbonell is currently in negotiations to come back as the mayor in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, according to Variety.

Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are returning. Nolan Bats newbies Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, and Josh Pence are on board as well. The article also mentions that Diego Klattenhoff (MEAN GIRLS) and Burn Gorman (LAYER CAKE) are being eyed for supporting roles in the film.

We still have no idea where the plot it going. Will the League of Shadows come into play or will we see some Knightfall storyline action? Until we get some more details all we can do is speculate.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will release on July 20, 2012.
