Trailer: Zac Efron’s Ted Bundy movie hits Netflix this May!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Netflix snatched up the distribution rights to EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE the sure-to-be-controversial movie from director Joe Berlinger starring Zac Efron as Ted Bundy earlier this year. So far we have not heard just when the streaming giant plans to unleash the film, but today we have word that the movie will be hitting Netflix and select theaters this May!

And if that wasn't cool enough, today we also have a new trailer and poster for the film, which you can check out in all of their creepy glory below. And remember, MPAA recently slapped the movie with an R-rating for "disturbing/violent content, some sexuality, nudity, and language."

Here's the synopsis for those of you who may have forgotten:

Told through the perspective of Elizabeth Kloepfer, Bundy's longtime girlfriend who went years denying the accusations against Bundy, but ultimately turned him into the police. Only nearing his execution, when Bundy began talking about his extensive and heinous murders, did Kloepfer, and the rest of the world, learn the true scope of his numerous and grizzly murders.

EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE is directed by Berlinger (BLAIR WITCH 2) from a script by Michael Werwie and stars John Malkovich, Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, Angela Sarafyan, Jeffrey Donovan, Jim Parsons, Metallica's James Hetfield, and Efron as Ted Bundy.

The film will hit Netflix and select theaters on May 3, 2019.
