The Wachowski siblings, already hard at work on their latest epic, JUPITER ASCENDING, have added another ambitious project to their plate, a sci-fi series called “Sense8”. They’ll collaborate with veteran TV and movie screenwriter J. Michael Straczynski (CHANGELING, UNDERWORLD AWAKENING), and Netflix will debut it in late 2014.

Referred to as “a gripping global tale of minds linked and souls hunted,” not much is known about “Sense8” at the moment. However, in a statement the Wachowski siblings left this clue:

“Several years ago, we had a late night conversation about the ways technology simultaneously unites and divides us, and out of that paradox ‘Sense8’ was born.”

“Sense8” is being produced by Georgeville Television, in association with Studio JMS. Georgeville Television is a Reliance Entertainment company and independent television studio, formed by veteran film and television producer Marc Rosen, in partnership by Motion Picture Capital’s Leon Clarance and Producer Deepak Nayar.

Said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos:

“Andy and Lana Wachowski and Joe Straczynski are among the most imaginative writers and gifted visual storytellers of our time. Their incredible creations are favorites of Netflix members globally and we can’t wait to bring ‘Sense8’ to life.”

We’ll fill you in on “Sense8’s” plot details once they become clearer.
