Netflix’s Castlevania whips out an action-packed Season 3 trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Happy Valentine's Day, everybody! When it comes to first loves in the realm of video games, I can't think of a franchise that captured my heart more at such an early age than Castlevania. I was just six-years-old when Simon Belmont first cracked his whip, severing the spines and souls of Dracula's minions and then some. I can still recall falling in love with the game's Gothic architecture, robust secondary weapons system, and toothy antagonist who wanted nothing more than to drain the blood from my still-beating heart. As the years flew by, Castlevania continued to grow into the pop culture touchstone it is today, be it through the power of video games or Netflix's slickly-designed anime series. It's been an absolute pleasure to witness the franchise's evolution throughout its many iterations, and today I'm please to share with you a stunning trailer for CASTLEVANIA Season 3!

SPOILERS for CASTLEVANIA SEASON 2 INCOMING!!!

The third season of CASTLEVANIA will take place after the sophomore season's brutal finale, which saw Trevor Belmont, Alucard, and Sypha joining forces to vanquish the one and only Dracula. Surprisingly enough, the trifecta was successful in their mission, a feat believed to be impossible by those who'd fought and died against the Lord of the Undead. With Dracula reduced to nothing more than ashes in the wind, the trio soon discovers that evil still lurks within every shadow, and that their battle against the forces of darkness is far from over.

Here's an official synopsis for the show:

"Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar."

CASTLEVANIA stars Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont, James Callis as Alucard, Alejandra Reynoso as Syphia Belnades, and Graham McTavish as the one and only Dracula.

Castlevania's Season 3 premiere will rise on March 5th, which features more stunning animation from Powerhouse Studio as well as engaging scripts written by comic book legend Warren Ellis. If you've yet to check this show out, I highly recommend that you do so, as it delivers in spades for fans of the video game series as well as newcomers.

CASTLEVANIA Season 3 will make its Netflix debut March 5, 2020.
