Last Updated on August 2, 2021

BBC and Netflix's three-episode miniseries based on Bram Stoker's DRACULA with Claes Bang starring as The Prince of Darkness himself hit Netflix earlier this year. And today Bang says that a second season is absolutely something that's being discussed.

Bang says:

That’s absolutely something that I think is being discussed, but I don’t think there’s any news, at all. I haven’t heard anything. I would be super happy to do one more [season]. I’d love to go back with all of those people and do more. It was were really fulfilling and lovely.

He adds:

I think what’s going on is that Netflix and the BBC are evaluating how it’s done, and all of that. So, unfortunately, I can’t tell you anything because I don’t know, at this point. I would actually love to know, and I would love to do one more…

This new miniseries consists of three episodes and comes our way from the producers of SHERLOCK. But unlike that series, which is been uprooted into the modern-day, this miniseries stays (mostly) in Victorian times. That said, the mini-series is said to be

reinventing Bram Stoker’s classic story for a 21st-century audience.

This new take also stars John Heffernan, Dolly Wells, Joanna Scanlan, Morfydd Clark, Lujza Richter, Mark Gatiss, Jonathan Aris, Sacha Dhawan, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Catherine Schell, Youssef Kerkour, Clive Russell, Lyndsey Marshal, Chanel Cresswell, Matthew Beard, and Sarah Niles.

The television series was developed by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, based on the novel of the same name by Bram Stoker. The series is developed for broadcast and release on BBC One and Netflix. Jonny Campbell (Westworld), Damon Thomas (Penny Dreadful), and Paul McGuigan (PUSH, LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN, VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN) directed the three feature-length episodes.
